Tune-ups for your AC in spring and your heater in fall
Book one by itself, or get spring and fall on the plan.
Open 7 days, 7am to 8pm.

A Los Angeles system works two different jobs in one year: long afternoons of cooling from June, then heat on the cold nights of winter. A tune-up just before each season can catch the parts that tend to fail once the work starts.
The spring visit, for your AC
Booked between March and May, before the first hot week. What we check and clean:
- Rinse the outdoor coil and clear the space around the unit
- Measure refrigerant pressures and the air temperature at your vents
- Test the capacitor, the part that helps the motors start
- Clear the drain line so water can't back up into a ceiling
- Change the filter, or show you the size to buy
- Tighten electrical connections and check the contactor
- Check that the thermostat reads the room correctly
- Listen to the fan and blower motors for worn bearings
The fall visit, for your heater
Booked between September and November, before the first cold night. What we check and clean:
- Watch the burners light and check the igniter or pilot
- Clean the flame sensor so the furnace doesn't shut itself off
- Test the safety switches that stop the furnace if something is wrong
- Check the vent pipe for loose joints and gaps
- Check the blower motor and clean the blower if it's dusty
- Change the filter before the heating season
- Wall and floor furnaces: clean the burner area and check the pilot
- Heat pumps: run heat mode and check the defrost cycle

One tune-up, or the plan
A single tune-up suits a system you want looked at once, before a summer you are unsure about or before a sale.
On the plan, both visits are booked for you, with the same technician each time. A week before each visit, a reminder confirms the morning or afternoon you asked for. After each one, an email says what we cleaned and what to watch before next season.

Why the timing matters here
Santa Ana winds and wildfire ash can clog a filter in weeks. The fall visit changes it before the heater starts working. Near the ocean, salt air wears on the outdoor coil, so the spring rinse comes before the coil has to work hardest. A furnace that sat since spring is lit and watched on the fall visit, ahead of the night it is first needed.
What changes the price of a tune-up
- The number of systems in the house
- For mini-splits, how many indoor heads share the outdoor unit
A repair the visit turns up is priced separately, and only goes ahead if you agree to it.
Questions about tune-ups
Is a tune-up worth it on an old system?
Usually, if it still runs well. A tune-up can catch a weak capacitor or a blocked drain before either one stops the system on a hot day. If we think it's near the end, we say so and explain why.
Does someone need to be home?
Someone needs to let your technician in and show where the indoor equipment is. If the house is a parent's, the reminders can go to you as well as to them.
What happens if the visit finds a problem?
On a single tune-up, you get the repair's price before we start. On a plan visit, nothing is sold or signed: the price comes by email and you decide later.
When is the first visit if I join in summer?
It is the next one in the year: the fall heating visit if you join in summer, the spring cooling visit if you join in winter. Within 14 days of joining we text you its date and your technician's name.
